COUNCILMEMBER NITHYA RAMAN ISSUES STATEMENT CONDEMNING REPORTED HATE CRIME IN STUDIO CITY

LOS ANGELES — Today, Councilmember Nithya Raman issued the following statement: 

This morning, LAPD responded to emergency calls of a suspect forcibly entering a home in Studio City. The residents, who were in their home at the time, reported that the suspect made criminal threats referencing their Jewish heritage. The suspect was arrested and the case is being filed as a hate crime. No injuries were reported.

Antisemitism will never be tolerated in Council District 4 or anywhere in Los Angeles. Our office is working closely with LAPD and other city departments to ensure safety, justice, and accountability for all our communities. 

We stand firmly against all forms of hate, bigotry, and violence. Our office will continue to partner with local faith leaders during this time of global unrest.
