As we approach July 4th weekend from Thursday, July 4th to Sunday, July 7th, we want to make sure you have the resources you need to celebrate the holiday safely!

Hollywood Hills Traffic & Safety Deployment

Our office has been working over the last several weeks in partnership with the Office of Mayor Bass, City Departments, and many engaged community members to coordinate increased deployment throughout the Hollywood Hills and Beachwood Canyon for the July 4th holiday weekend. This measure aims to ensure smooth traffic flow, manage parking, and improve conditions for everyone during this busy holiday period.

July 4th

White Glove Traffic Control Officers will be located at: 

– Beachwood Drive & Ledgewood Drive

– Deronda Drive & Rockcliff Drive

– Ledgewood Drive & Rockcliff Drive

– 6100 Mulholland Hwy

– Canyon Lake Drive & Mulholland Hwy

– Canyon Lake Drive & Arrowhead Dr.

– Runyon Canyon Upper Lot

Parking Enforcement Patrol Officers will be located at:

– Lake Hollywood Park and Beachwood Canyon

– Mulholland between Cahuenga Blvd and Universal City Overlook

LAPD Hollywood will be patrolling around Lake Hollywood Park and Mulholland between Cahuenga Blvd and Universal City Overlook.

The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority will be closing the Jerome Daniel and Universal City Overlooks and Recreation and Parks will be closing Runyon Canyon Park early at 5PM on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th. There will be support from both Rangers and Park Activity Monitors in Runyon Canyon Park and Lake Hollywood Park. Temporary No Parking/Tow Away regulations will be in place at the Universal City Overlook on July 4th and 5th to complement the MRCA closure.

July 5th

Report Illegal Fireworks

ALL fireworks in the City of Los Angeles are illegal! There are several safe and secure methods for reporting fireworks: 

  • Use the MyLA311 smartphone app. It’s free and available here: lacity.org/MyLA311
  • The LAPD has an online fireworks form that you may fill out HERE 
  • IMPORTANT: Do not dial 9-1-1 unless you see someone being injured or at risk of immediate injury, or a fire or other emergency. Instead, use this telephone number: 1-877-275-5273
