District 4
Council District 4 ranges from the San Fernando Valley to the Santa Monica Mountains, encompassing a panoply of vastly diverse neighborhoods in central Los Angeles. In 2021, the Los Angeles City Council’s fifteen districts underwent a once-a-decade redistricting process. The resulting map was adopted by the City Council in December 2021 and took effect January 1st, 2022.
Council District 4’s new boundaries retain some of the wonderful neighborhoods Councilmember Raman was elected to represent, and welcomes many new areas she has been thrilled to get to know.
The new CD4 has the distinct privilege of serving as the only ‘bridge district,’ stretching from from the hillsides to the Valley and knitting together communities from both sides of the hills. From parts of Silver Lake to Los Feliz to the Hollywood Hills, Sherman Oaks to Encino, and parts of Studio City, Van Nuys, and Reseda, CD4 is home to a diverse array of residents. Well represented by young people, families, and retirees, renters and homeowners, and immigrants from around the world, our ethnically and socio-economically diverse district is a bellwether for Los Angeles at large.
Key assets and destinations of Los Angeles call CD4 home such as the Hollywood Bowl, Ford Theatre, Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, NBCUniversal and the renowned business districts of Ventura Boulevard and Hillhurst Ave.
