Show Your City Some Love! Volunteer for the 2025 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count!
Dear friend,
Every year here in Los Angeles, we embark on a mission to count our unsheltered homeless population across the city. This point in time count is one of the greatest tools we have for assessing the progress we are making as a city toward solving our homelessness crisis. The data obtained from this annual count is critical in informing policy, securing resources, and delivering services where they are most needed.
Last year’s count saw the biggest drop in unsheltered homelessness – 10.7% – since the City began collecting this data in 2013. This double digit reduction in the number of people living on our city’s streets was the product of hard work and aggressive intervention, including an infusion of resources to open new shelter beds and permanent housing units.
But now is not the time to take our foot off the gas. Obtaining an accurate count of who is living on our City and County streets allows us to ask for every dollar that we can to make sure we continue building on our success to solve this humanitarian crisis.
At a time when so many Angelenos have showed up to fire evacuation sites with donations, cooked meals for first responders, fundraised for families who’ve lost everything, or let displaced strangers into their homes — we have seen the incredible capacity of this city to show up for everyone, no matter their circumstances.
If you are looking for a meaningful way to make a difference for our unhoused neighbors in need of support, I invite you to join us for this year’s Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, happening across three nights on February 18th, 19th, and 20th.
Our office will once again be hosting the Studio City count, taking place February 18th at 8 PM, at the First Christian Church of North Hollywood, located at 4390 Colfax Ave. We will also have staff assisting at counts across the district in Sherman Oaks, Encino, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake, and we would love to see you there!
You can easily register to count on any one of these nights by visiting theycountwillyou.org! Hope to see you there!
With gratitude,
Team CD4
